My time at Eastern Washington University was shaped as much by personal determination as academic pursuit. While I approached the coursework with a practical mindset, I often found myself stepping into leadership roles during group projects—motivated by a desire to ensure smooth collaboration and strong outcomes. I naturally gravitated toward subjects like statistics, where analytical thinking came easily, even earning one of my highest grades thanks to a blend of intuition and extra credit opportunities.
Although I didn't graduate with honors, I maintained solid academic performance while balancing a full-time course load and nearly full-time work. My wife and I supported ourselves throughout college, and with little room for traditional extracurricular involvement, we built resilience, time management, and teamwork into our everyday lives.
Looking back, what I took away most was not just textbook knowledge, but a steady, self-reliant approach to problem-solving. Whether managing solo assignments or coordinating group efforts, I consistently focused on doing what needed to be done efficiently and effectively. Completing my degree while navigating these challenges was a meaningful personal achievement—one that speaks to my adaptability, persistence, and ability to lead under pressure.
